Milk and Honey Press grew out of Sippurim, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening children's ties to Israel through the powerful medium of literature.

The Sippurim project discovered that books about Israel were virtually absent from English-speaking children's bookshelves. Yet when offered potential manuscripts, existing publishers were showing very little interest in publishing such books.

Sippurim responded by forming Milk and Honey Press.

Milk and Honey’s goal is to provide children with rich stories, contemporary and historical, from the many cultures and communities that make up the Jewish people in Israel, from artists in Tel Aviv to park rangers in Ein Gedi, from farmers in the Golan to surfers in Eilat.
